U.S. Attorney General Opens
New NCPD Training Village

MJD with Attorney General Pam Bondi and Bruce Blakeman at Training Village Opening Large

Recently, the Nassau County Police Department (NCPD) celebrated the official opening of a new state-of-the-art training facility.

United States Attorney General Pam Bondi joined Nassau County officials, including County Executive Bruce Blakeman and Police Commissioner Patrick Ryder, at the ribbon-cutting for the NCPD’s Training Village.

In remarks delivered at the event, Bondi noted that the new facility is the result of a public- private partnership, which brought together the NCPD with private organizations across Long Island to fund the development of the training village.

Located at the NCPD’s David S. Mack Center for Training and Intelligence on the campus of Nassau Community College, the training village features a realistic suburban landscape complete with homes, restaurants, bars, banks, churches, and stores. The $12 million facility, which began construction in 2023, allows law enforcement officers to practice responding to different emergency scenarios and conflict de-escalation in a controlled environment.

DSS President and Chief Operating Officer Mario J. Doyle, CPP, attended the ribbon-cutting event. Mario has been deeply involved in the training center’s development, helping to steer its progress through a decade of planning and collaboration with local stakeholders. DSS has decades of partnership with the NCPD and many law enforcement agencies. Last year, the company donated a horse to the NCPD’s mounted unit.

DSS is proud to support local law enforcement agencies, including the NCPD. We congratulate the NCPD on the launch of the training village!
