Recently, DSS held an important organizational meeting attended by DSS executives, senior managers, and our district and regional management teams.
The purpose of the Mid-Year Leadership Meeting was to evaluate the company’s current performance, identify opportunities to enhance operational efficiency and productivity, and ensure that all operational personnel are aligned with DSS strategic goals.
The all-day event, held on Long Island, was led by DSS President and CEO Mario J. Doyle, CPP, and featured presentations by senior executives, including Chief Operating Officer Joe Martino, who reiterated the company’s financial and expansion objectives for 2026.
Regional and district managers then discussed strategic goals, comparing actual growth to performance targets and noting how each operating region was working to sustain DSS’ expansion. Progress on obtaining Safety Act Designation, expected this year, was also discussed, along with updates to the company’s training program and 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC).
Ensuring that DSS team members remain safe in the field was a major focus of the meeting. Senior leadership received feedback from operations personnel regarding the risks frontline DSS security professionals face at client locations and ways DSS encourages a corporate culture that prioritizes safety and reduces risk for all employees. The company has a zero-accident goal and is working to implement policies that will better detect hazards and improve safety.
The meeting also featured presentations on company branding, recruitment, operational efficiency, enhancing customer service, technology integration, employee development, and sharing information and resources through improved interdepartmental engagement and collaboration.
“Leadership meetings are designed to keep our team focused on the strategic roadmap that the executive team has developed for the company’s evolution,” Mario J. Doyle noted. “The meetings also serve to remind the team of the company’s founding principles – delivering the best service to our clients, investing in our people and giving back to the communities we serve – and ensure that we remain true to those values even as we grow.”
The meeting sought to identify and develop innovative and practical ideas that will have a measurable, positive impact on DSS operations. DSS has experienced industry-leading growth over the past several years. The company now deploys more than 1,700 security professionals across New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Florida, a dramatic increase from just 500 security professionals several years ago. As in prior Leadership Meetings, guest speaker Joseph Fox, a popular Executive Leadership Coach who spent almost four decades with the New York City Police Department (NYPD), provided a motivational talk to the DSS Team. Fox discussed the “Things No One Tells You About Being a Leader,” which provided valuable insights into the difficulties leaders face when managing and mentoring their teams, as well as ways to step up and become the best leader possible.
DSS Leadership Meetings are designed to ensure that the company’s operations remain effective, efficient, and aligned with the organization’s strategic goals. They are a core element of DSS’ promise to be the Gold Standard for service delivery and corporate responsibility in the security services industry. DSS maintains its outstanding brand reputation by offering the best services to our customers and fostering a compassionate and collaborative company culture.
