DSS Cares

DSS supports a wide range of organizations and campaigns to help the disadvantaged, pursue research and education to combat disease and make a difference in the lives of others.
Community matters most.

Our foundational philosophy.

Giving back to the communities we serve is a fundamental part of DSS’ foundational philosophy. We encourage our employees to seek new opportunities to help others. Every year, DSS team members rise to the challenge, proposing new charitable campaigns and volunteering to assist those in need. DSS is always proud to support those efforts.
Kidney Walk

In May, DSS took part in the 2025 Long Island Kidney Walk at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, New York. The DSS Team raised more than $6,200, easily topping our $5,000 goal. Team DSS was ranked among the top fundraising teams in last year’s event. DSS matches every dollar raised by Team DSS. All funds support the National Kidney Foundation.

Spring Food Drive

DSS is focused on delivering the highest levels of customer service. Our commitment to exceeding our clients’ expectations is at the heart of our organization. We pride ourselves on being fully accessible to our clients. DSS is unlike many of its competitors, who grow by buying up rival companies in a bid to build the biggest organization possible.

DSS Cares

Bowling for charity.

Teams comprised of DSS executives and managers competed in our annual bowling tournament. The winning team donated $7,500 from DSS to charities of their choice. Previous winners have donated the tournament’s purse to charities including Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital and THON, a student-run charity that supports childhood cancer research and outreach.

Going Pink to Help Fight Breast Cancer.

Every October, DSS team members wear pink to promote Breast Cancer Awareness Month and raise awareness of the disease. DSS also donated money to prominent cancer advocacy organizations to fund research for a cure.
Combatting Childhood Cancer

For the third consecutive year, DSS attended the annual Daniela Conte Foundation gala dinner, which raises money to help battle childhood cancer, and support families on Long Island who are dealing with the disease. The foundation is named in honor of Daniela Conte, who passed away from cancer in 2020. More than a dozen DSS employees attended the event.

Winter Coat Drive

During November, DSS team members rallied to help disadvantaged people by donating coats and other winter garments. By November 21, the DSS Winter Coat Drive had received around 400 coats, gloves, and scarves. To aid the effort, team members dropped off warm clothing at each DSS office. All clothing collected during the drive was donated to The Interfaith Nutrition Network (The INN), the largest private, non profit social service organization serving needy people across Long Island.

Toys for Tots

In December, DSS collected hundreds of toys to brighten the holidays for underprivileged children. The toy drive is conducted in partnership with the United States Marine Corps Reserve’s famed Toys for Tots program, which distributes toys to needy children. DSS team members collected many new, unwrapped toys, which were left in collection boxes at every DSS office.
Good Corporate Citizen

DSS Named Good Corporate Citizen.

In September, DSS was named a Corporate Citizen of the Year in the category for large businesses with more than 500 employees by Long Island Business News (LIBN). Other honorees in the category recognized by LIBN included 1-800-Flowers.com, Canon, PSEG Long Island, TD Bank, and Valley Bank. The LIBN Corporate Citizenship Awards celebrate companies and individuals whose actions contribute to building better communities. DSS supports many charitable organizations with financial donations and participation in annual events. DSS team members are also encouraged to identify and participate in other worthwhile charitable campaigns and events.

Gerardo Molina Named Volunteer of the Year

In September, DSS Strategic Support Manager Gerardo Molina was honored as a Volunteer of the Year by Long Island Business News (LIBN). Gerardo has spearheaded multiple charitable efforts at DSS, including the National Kidney Foundation’s annual Kidney Walk and the Daniela Conte Foundation. He also serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Levittown Fire Department and was deployed along with other members of the Department to help extinguish the Jennings Creek wildfires, which scorched more than 5,000 acres of forests in upstate New York and New Jersey last year.

DSS Sponsors Youth Soccer Team

The 2017 Islandia PAL Stars were the undefeated champions of the East Islip 2025 Fall Classic BU-9 division. The youth soccer team, organized by the Suffolk County Police Athletic League (PAL), is sponsored by DSS. Suffolk PAL offers a diverse range of sports and recreational activities that promote engagement between young people and law enforcement. More than 20,000 children participate annually in Suffolk PAL programs. DSS is proud to support Suffolk PAL and its outreach to young people across the county.
We Mean It.
