Recently, members of the DSS Team once again hit the bowling lanes to raise thousands of dollars for charity.

Teams comprised of DSS executives, managers, and team members competed in a bowling tournament to help build organizational camaraderie and help those in need. The winning team had the honor of donating $7,500 to the charities of their choice.

This marks the third consecutive year that DSS teams have bowled for charity. In previous years, the winning team received $5,000 to donate, but this year the donation was raised by 50%.

“DSS is committed to giving back to the communities we serve,” commented DSS President and COO Mario J. Doyle on the company’s decision to increase the charitable donation. “Our company is growing rapidly and the more we grow, the more we give.”

This year’s winning team comprised Vice President Mark Riggio; Business Development Manager Mordechay Givoni; Payroll & Billing Specialist Kimberlyn Falconer; and Payroll & Billing Supervisor Bramny Stoddart.

The winners have selected THON, a student-run charity that supports childhood cancer research and outreach, and Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital to each receive half of the prize money.

“The bowling competitions are yet another example of how DSS stays true to its commitment to help those in need,” noted Mark Riggio, who has been part of the winning bowling team three years in a row. “It is great to work for such a generous company.”

In addition to the usual team competition, this year there was a bowl-off among the top-scoring bowlers from each team. Christian Cardona won the bowl-off and received an all-expenses paid trip to Aruba as his reward.

The annual bowling tournament helps build interpersonal relationships among DSS team members, while simultaneously allowing the DSS team to support worthy causes that strengthen the overall community.
