DSS Sponsors Security
Symposium at NYC Museum
Doyle Security Services, Inc. (DSS) was honored to sponsor and participate in a recent ASIS NYC panel discussion of pressing security issues held in Manhattan.
The event, “From Minnesota to Park Avenue: Current Trends in Targeted Attacks,” took place in October at the Museum of Arts & Design, located at Columbus Circle not far from Central Park.
The panel was held in collaboration with ASIS NYC’s Museum, Library & Cultural Property Protection Committee. It featured DSS Senior Vice President—Operations Joe Martino, DSS Area Vice President Mordechay Givoni, as well as other experts like Div Aviv, CEO of Inter for International, and Franceskina Merturi from The Metropolitan Museum of Art.
DSS Vice President--Intelligence, Risk Advisory & Security Initiatives Greg Sanfilippo moderated the discussion, which covered a wide range of critical security topics surrounding recent active shooter incidents across the country. Panelists explored social media threat monitoring, vulnerability assessments, protective intelligence, hardening potential targets against attack, and the importance of collaborative partnerships between private organizations and public agencies, especially law enforcement groups, during their conversation.
The panelists also examined the evolving security challenges facing museums and other cultural institutions, highlighting current vulnerabilities at large, highly-trafficked venues.
DSS extends its gratitude to ASIS NYC and to DeAnne DiLeo-Odria, Deputy Director of the Museum of Arts and Design, for making this important event happen.
We also thank our excellent panelists for their expertise, perspectives, and engaging discussion, as well as all who attended and gained valuable information from the event.
The importance of information sharing and collaboration cannot be understated in today’s rapidly changing threat landscape. Strong partnerships—especially between the public and private sectors—are what enable us to effectively protect our most valuable assets and cultural treasures.
DSS is proud to sponsor events like this panel. Members of the DSS senior leadership team are active in many security industry and law enforcement organizations, such as ASIS and NYPD Shield. These organizations help public and private entities communicate and increase safety for all.
