DSS Attends NYPD Shield Conference
Recently, members of the DSS leadership and New York City District Management teams attended an important counterterrorism event.
The Annual NYPD Shield Conference was held in mid-June at One Police Plaza in New York City.
DSS President & COO Mario J. Doyle, CPP, Senior Vice President—Operations Joe Martino, Vice President—Business Development & Quality Assurance John Kalle, Area Vice President Jason Choi, Area Vice President Mordechay Givoni, New York City Director of Operations Vanessa Vanegas, and Training Manager Glenn Leusink attended this year’s conference.
Former New York City Police Commissioner William J. Bratton gave the keynote address. His remarks were followed by a variety of presentations on the ever-evolving landscape of terrorist threats, enhancing event security and incident response, as well as intelligence-sharing programs.
The conference concluded with comments from NYPD Deputy Chief Patricia E. MacDonald, Commanding Officer, Counterterrorism Operational Support.
DSS is a member of NYPD Shield, an umbrella program under which law enforcement agencies share anti-crime and counter-terrorism information with private security services providers. Shield was found by the NYPD and later adopted by many local law enforcement agencies nationwide, including the Suffolk County Police Department (SCPD).
DSS is happy to participate in NYPD Shield and to help advance the program’s critical work.
Our communities and businesses are safer when intelligence is shared, and appropriate steps are taken to integrate the latest information into security planning and preparedness.
