DSS External Training Course Offerings

The online courses listed below were created by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) – part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) – for people whose jobs include emergency management responsibilities and who interact with the general public.

These courses are perfect for security officers who wish to learn effective techniques for emergency preparedness and action. They provide in-depth training on important topics including Active Shooter prevention and response, enhanced situational awareness, critical First Aid techniques, retail theft, bomb and hazardous materials threats, and emergency incident command structure and response.

DSS security professionals may take these EMI courses while at work, subject to a supervisor’s approval. Participation is completely voluntary. There is no requirement to take these courses.

However, completion of these EMI courses will be considered by DSS management when selecting team members for premium assignments and promotions.

DSS employees who choose to take the EMI courses will receive financial compensation for each course they complete. Employees will be paid $25 for completing a one-hour course and $50 for completing a two-hour course. To receive compensation, employees must submit course certificates to hr@doylesecurityservices.com.

To qualify, the employee must:

  • Get approval from their immediate supervisor to take the course and schedule the time when it will be taken.
  • Take the online EMI courses while at work.
  • Submit the course certificate (earned upon completion) to hr@doylesecurityservices.com
  • There is no limit on the number of courses an employee can complete, subject to approval from their supervisor.

DSS wants you to succeed. These courses offer an effective way to build your security skills, earn money, and advance your career. We strongly encourage all team members to take advantage of the opportunity the courses provide.
