Ryan Boyle
Ryan is a highly experienced security professional with more than 20 years of law enforcement and security training experience. He develops and delivers specialized training for DSS security professionals and external clients covering a broad range of emerging security threats, including Active Shooters, Surveillance & Observational Techniques, and IED (Improvised Explosive Device) threat detection, among other topics.
Ryan retired from the NYPD after more than two decades of service. He spent his final eight years as a Lead Instructor and Liaison for the NYPD Counterterrorism Division Training Section, collaborating with federal, state, and local partners to protect critical infrastructure. Before that, he spent his final two years on patrol as a Field Training Officer.
His expertise covers active shooter response for patrol and civilian environments, hostile surveillance detection, and radiological, nuclear, and explosive detection. Ryan is a certified instructor for the Department of Homeland Security’s National Domestic Preparedness Consortium schools, including LSU/NCBRT, TEEX, CDP & DOE-CTOS. He also holds certifications in programs such as ALERRT and “Run, Hide, Fight.” Additionally, he has extensive experience in conducting multi-agency drills and exercises in compliance with HSEEP standards.
Besides his training and security experience, Ryan is a New York State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and a certified instructor for tactical medical courses, including TCCC-LEO and “Stop the Bleed.”
He earned a double Bachelor of Science from New Jersey City University in Fire Science and National Security Studies.
